    Please note the reading schedule indicates the dates when readings and assignments are due. The Socratic Seminar model will be used for whole-group discussions and the Literature Circle model will be used for small group work.  Individual responses to the questions posted below should be completed before the group meets. Additional notes are encouraged based on new revelations from the discussion.  In addition, all students should prepare their own 5 questions to pose to the group that are a combination of literal, inferential, and higher-level critical thinking questions that are text-based.

    Q1 On page xiii, Rebecca Skloot states "This is a work of nonfiction. No names have been changed, no characters invented, no events fabricated."  Consider the process Skloot went through to verify dialogue, recreate scenes, and establish facts.  Imagine trying to recreate scenes such as when Henrietta discovered her tumor (page 15). What does Skloot say on pages xiii-xiv and in the notes section (page 346) about how she did this?
