ELEMENTARY INTERVENTION COORDINATOR

My current role in our district is to make sure that students that need extra support in our building get the extra help that they need. I work closely with classroom teachers and paraeducators to make sure that all students can be successful.

EDUCATION:  I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education from Washington State University in 2000. I did my students teaching at South Bend School District and loved it so much that I stayed. This is my twentieth year at South Bend. During my time at South Bend, I earned a second Bachelor's Degree in Physchology and in 2006 earned a Master's Degree in Instruction, curriculum, and assessment and I am currently working on my ELL endorsement through Seattle University. Over the course of my career, I’ve taught Title I reading and math, gifted and talented, fourth grade, a second/third split, second grade. and LAP/ELL.

FAVORITES:  I would have to say that spending time with my family is at the top of my list. I love to visit with my adult children and my grandbabies. I also like to go on adventures with my husband. When I am not doing one of those things I can be found reading a good book or learning something new.

Learning Beliefs: You are never too old to learn something new and education is the one thing no one can ever take away from you.
